Project Summary

Walking Tree Technologies delivered frontend design and full-stack development for an end-to-end IoT system focused on groundwater monitoring, building a React Native mobile app and a Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure. The vendor was professional, maintained timelines, provided transparent project management (Redmine) and offered good value for money.

Key Challenges

  • Build an end-to-end IoT system including cloud infrastructure and a mobile app
  • Digitalize the groundwater scenario and develop analytics to track sediments (hardest part)
  • Integrate IoT data into Azure to create visualizations on the mobile platform
  • Deliver a cross-platform mobile app (Android prioritized initially)

Project Deliverables

  • Frontend design for the React mobile platform
  • Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure setup and configuration
  • Integration of Azure services and third-party SDKs
  • Mobile app built in React Native (Android first; deployable to iOS)
  • Analytics and visualizations for groundwater sediment tracking

Project Solution

Walking Tree designed the full frontend for a React-based mobile platform and built and configured a Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure. They integrated Azure services with the mobile platform and several third-party SDKs, developed analytics to track sediments from IoT data, and delivered a React Native mobile app (Android-first, deployable to iOS). The engagement included architecture, development, integrations and ongoing maintenance/support across multiple phases.

Project Outcome

  • Professional and balanced team that adhered to timelines
  • High transparency into tasks and bugs via Redmine enabling close monitoring
  • Delivered strong value for money with a structured approach that prevented major delivery glitches
