Project Summary

Pwrteams (formerly Skelia) took over full development responsibility for a travel ecommerce platform, building frontend and backend systems with JavaScript and .NET and integrating Sitecore and multiple third-party services. They set up servers for data handling and continue to provide ongoing development and QA. The engagement restored platform stability after a prior vendor failure and reduced high-priority defects significantly.

Key Challenges

  • Take over and stabilize an ecommerce platform previously developed by another vendor
  • Integrate the ecommerce platform with the mainframe and payment provider
  • Handle multiple third-party content and service integrations across the site

Project Deliverables

  • Ecommerce frontend and backend
  • Mainframe connectivity and processing of mainframe dump files
  • Third-party integrations (Zoover, payment provider, airline features)
  • WCMS (Sitecore) setup and content integration
  • Servers for data handling and upload
  • Design and ongoing development support

Project Solution

Skelia took over full responsibility for developing the ecommerce platform, delivering frontend and backend features, integrating with the mainframe and payment provider, and handling multiple third-party content integrations (e.g., Zoover) and airline features. They implemented the WCMS on Sitecore, set up backend servers to handle and upload data, and expanded the delivery team (10 developers and 4 QA) organized into two scrum teams. They also provided ongoing development, QA, and temporary resources as needed.

Project Outcome

  • Achieved platform stability within 2–3 months after taking over from the previous vendor
  • Rapid reduction of P1 defects to very low levels after production releases
  • Consistent delivery and improved platform reliability
