Project Summary

Quentic hired evozon to modernize its health & safety SaaS platform by migrating a monolithic PHP web application to modern frameworks including Symfony, Doctrine 2 and React. Evozon prepared and executed code migrations, updated dependencies, conducted QA, and provided knowledge transfer; their changes were integrated into Quentic's CI and rolled out in production releases on time and on budget.

Key Challenges

  • Modernize the underlying PHP software stack
  • Modernize frontend and UI components using React JS
  • Improve internal tooling and development environments

Project Deliverables

  • Migration of parts of the codebase from legacy frameworks to Symfony and Doctrine 2
  • Modernization of frontend UI components using React
  • Updates to third-party libraries and quality assurance of migrated areas
  • Knowledge transfer and training of in-house staff

Project Solution

Evozon assisted the client by preparing and conducting migrations of parts of a monolithic PHP codebase to modern architecture using Symfony, Doctrine 2 and React. Work included updating third-party libraries, performing quality assurance on migrated areas, conducting knowledge transfers and training in-house staff, and flexibly scaling development capacity. A larger Evozon group also worked as an individual team in close collaboration with Quentic architects and stakeholders.

Project Outcome

  • Software changes were regularly integrated into Quentic's CI process and adhered to requested quality standards.
  • Sub-projects of the migration were delivered on time and on budget.
  • Changes were applied and rolled out as part of major and minor software releases and made available to customers.
  • Evozon's staff integrated quickly into agile teams and provided scalable capacity aligned with Quentic's needs.
