Project Summary

Leifheit, a home products manufacturer, engaged e-point to build a branded online store and launch B2C sales across Germany and other countries. e-point reduced technical debt, implemented SAP Commerce, a PWA (e2m) storefront and a redesigned web portal integrated with the e-commerce platform. The project produced major commercial gains — including a 178% increase in transactions and 370% growth in revenue — and improved mobile usage and conversion rates. The client praised e-point's UX/UI expertise, consultancy and project management.

Key Challenges

  • Transition from distributor sales to a direct‑to‑consumer branded online store
  • Address multiple operational, technical, and e‑commerce challenges across systems

Project Deliverables

  • Online store built on SAP Commerce
  • PWA (e2m) storefront implementation
  • Web portal redesign integrated with e-commerce and CMS
  • Mobile app‑like store distribution via TWA and Cordova
  • Reduction of technological debt and performance optimizations

Project Solution

e-point took over an existing, troubled implementation, reduced technological debt, applied optimization techniques and built the online store on SAP Commerce. The vendor's design and UX teams implemented a redesigned portal and an e2m PWA storefront to increase conversion and sales. They integrated the portal with the e-commerce platform and CMS ActiveContent, followed a mobile‑first approach, and enabled store distribution as app‑like experiences via TWA (Google) and Cordova (Apple). Various project stages involved programmers, frontend developers, testers, architects and project managers.

Project Outcome

  • 178% more transactions
  • 192% better conversion rate
  • 370% more revenue
  • 69% increase in average order value
  • Mobile user share rose to 33.75% (from 22.53%); over 60% of German market customers used mobile devices after launch
