Project Summary

Sunflower Lab built MVPs for a ride-sharing platform including web admin, rider, and driver apps, using Angular for the web and Swift/Java for mobile. Deliverables included an attendance feature for drivers, live tracking via Google mapping APIs, and admin tools for organizations and route management. The engagement produced a deployable production build and positioned the client to onboard larger customers, with strong ongoing communication and a hybrid onshore/offshore delivery model.

Key Challenges

  • Build MVPs for the rider app, driver app, and admin web portal
  • Implement real-time tracking, scheduling, and trip-data features to support production use
  • Scale the platform to support large clients and intelligent routing algorithms

Project Deliverables

  • Web admin application (MVP)
  • Rider mobile app (MVP)
  • Driver mobile app (MVP) with attendance feature
  • Live driver tracking using Google mapping APIs
  • Admin portal for organizations, user roles, and route management

Project Solution

Sunflower Lab developed MVPs for the client's web admin application, rider mobile app, and driver mobile app. The web app was built using an Angular framework, and the mobile apps were developed in Swift (iOS) and Java (Android). Features implemented include rider profiles, scheduling, real-time driver location and ETA, driver attendance tracking, admin organization/customer management, user role controls, and manual route creation. The vendor used Google mapping APIs for live tracking and advised the client on scaling and business decisions.

Project Outcome

  • Attendance feature completed enabling onboarding of a large client expected to generate about 1,000 rides per week
  • Deployed to production and preparing App Store and Google Play submissions
  • Effective communication and project management via Asana and Slack
  • Hybrid onshore-offshore model provided local meeting capability while leveraging offshore development cost savings
