Project Summary
Solution Analysts built SkyAzul iService, a cross-platform mobile app (iOS and Android) to help field service personnel locate and digest decades of service documentation and run troubleshooting diagnostics. They concurrently redesigned the company's website (WordPress) and integrated it so in-house staff can update content that goes live on the apps. The vendor published the apps in 2016 and continues to provide ongoing support and accessible project management.
Key Challenges
- Provide field service personnel with quick access to and the ability to digest 20 years of service documentation
- Implement a troubleshooting diagnostics decision-tree with graphics and technical information
- Deliver concurrent iOS and Android apps and integrate them with the company's website so content can be updated without rewriting the app
Project Deliverables
- Mobile iOS app (SkyAzul iService)
- Mobile Android app (SkyAzul iService)
- Troubleshooting diagnostics decision-tree tool with graphics
- Website redesign (WordPress) integrated with the mobile apps
- Service video documentation for 6–10 typical field issues
Project Solution
Solution Analysts developed SkyAzul iService as a cross-platform mobile application (iOS and Android) to enable field service technicians to locate, read, and digest historical service documentation and to follow a troubleshooting diagnostics decision tree with graphics and technical information. They concurrently redesigned the company's seven-year-old website (WordPress) to serve as the content source for the mobile apps, implemented a workflow that allows in-house staff to update technical information via the website so changes go live in the app, created six to ten service videos for common field issues, and published the Android and iOS apps. They provided project management, delivered a scope document quickly, and continue to support the apps and website.
Project Outcome
- Website launched in Aug. 2016; mobile apps published in Oct. 2016
- Content updates can be made via WordPress and become live in the mobile app
- Ongoing support and responsive project management from the vendor
- Initial user adoption lower than expected and marketing postponed pending new release
