Project Summary

Sloboda Studio provided Ruby on Rails development to build an MVP family-timeline web platform focused on desktop users. They implemented core features such as image upload and event/anniversary alerts, iterated from early concept designs, and continue to collaborate into a second phase that may involve PHP. The vendor is praised for responsiveness, attention to detail, and flexible pricing.

Key Challenges

  • Build an MVP quickly and enable frequent iteration
  • Get the product live for testing with extended family members
  • Learn from early tests and refine the model for a larger market
  • Support a desktop-first audience with plans to become mobile-enabled later

Project Deliverables

  • MVP web application (Ruby on Rails)
  • Image upload and email alerting functionality
  • Desktop-focused web platform for family timeline sharing

Project Solution

Sloboda Studio provided Ruby on Rails development to create the MVP web application, focusing on a desktop experience. They implemented image upload and description capabilities plus alerting (email notifications) and corrected platform-specific issues (e.g., Apple photo orientation). The vendor worked with a project manager and the client via Skype and email, finished phase one, and is engaged in planning a second phase that may include PHP-based tooling.

Project Outcome

  • The vendor translated early designs into a highly usable application
  • The application successfully enables image uploads and sends email alerts for events
  • The team fixed platform-specific issues (e.g., Apple photo orientation) and demonstrated responsiveness
  • Ongoing engagement into a second project phase
