Project Summary

Sirma provided cloud consulting and software architecture services to Kount, a fraud protection company, helping plan migration of core products from on-prem to cloud and defining cloud-native architecture patterns. The engagement included deep analysis of existing on-prem systems, design of microservice-based patterns using cloud-native technologies and Go, development of proofs-of-concept and an initial product microservice, and load testing to validate throughput and latency targets. The team delivered consistently on time, maintained regular check-ins, and was responsive to the client's needs.

Key Challenges

  • Help strategy and planning for migration from on-prem to cloud for core products
  • Help define core software architecture patterns for next-gen, cloud-native fraud protection solutions
  • Help develop initial proof of concept for cloud-native, micro service architecture

Project Deliverables

  • Assist Kount team with analysis of existing on-prem solutions and technologies to evaluate feasibility and risks of cloud migration
  • Analysis and design of core software architecture patterns for next-generation microservice, cloud-native solutions
  • Development of an initial microservice architecture proof of concept
  • Development of a product microservice to establish initial cloud-native workload and provide short-term value to existing on-prem product
  • Load testing to evaluate throughput and performance targets

Project Solution

Sirma analyzed Kount's existing on-prem systems to evaluate feasibility and risks of migrating to the cloud, designed core software architecture patterns for cloud-native, microservice-based real-time fraud-prevention workloads, and developed proofs-of-concept to validate those patterns. They implemented an initial product microservice to provide immediate business value while introducing cloud-native workloads, and executed load testing to assess ability to meet throughput and sub-1000ms response SLAs. The engagement included technical reviews and iterative refinement of proposed patterns.

Project Outcome

  • Detailed design diagrams (sequence, flow) for core architecture that focused on real-time fraud prevention workloads
  • Development of proofs-of-concept
  • Development of a micro-service to gain foothold in the new cloud ecosystem while providing value to the existing on-prem product
  • Development and execution of load tests to assess ability to reach volume and performance targets
