Project Summary

Pyxis built a bi-directional digital platform for a beverage bottler (Coca‑Cola FEMSA) to enable interaction with mom-and-pop stores. The solution comprised a web platform, mobile apps (Android and iOS), SAP ECC integration and an image-recognition algorithm trained with TensorFlow. The tool provided a 24/7 decentralized channel that contributed to a 4.3% sales increase in the traditional market and improved commercial insights.

Key Challenges

  • Create a customer-facing app for mom-and-pop stores with image recognition to review cooler contents
  • Accurately identify products, brand presence and correct placement via image analysis
  • Generate suggested replenishment orders and alerts for sales representatives
  • Integrate mobile/web workflows with SAP ECC and support operations across regions

Project Deliverables

  • Web platform for interaction between bottler and customers
  • SAP ECC integration
  • Android and iOS mobile applications
  • TensorFlow-trained image recognition algorithm
  • Three release cycles delivered across a one-year project

Project Solution

Pyxis developed a bi-directional platform linking the bottler and mom-and-pop stores that included a web platform, SAP ECC integration, and native Android and iOS applications. They implemented an image-recognition solution trained with TensorFlow to analyze cooler contents, identify brands and product placement, and generate suggested replenishment orders and alerts for sales reps. The work was delivered across three releases over the course of the year with collaboration between SAP, Pyxis, Telcel (carrier) and internal client teams; development was carried out primarily in Colombia and Uruguay.
