Project Summary

Polcode has provided long-term staff augmentation to a web consultancy, supplying PHP and Ruby on Rails developers to support e-commerce websites and web applications. They integrate with the internal engineering team, maintain consistent quality, and remain an ongoing partner since the first engagement in June 2012.

Key Challenges

  • Need extra talent to complete a PHP Zend project.
  • Scale development capacity for multiple e-commerce and web app projects.
  • Quickly source trusted, vetted developers to reduce hiring and onboarding time.

Project Deliverables

  • Dedicated team including a project manager and 3 Ruby developers
  • E-commerce websites
  • Web applications for client self-service
  • Backend administration interfaces

Project Solution

Polcode supplied staff augmentation across multiple PHP and Ruby on Rails projects, providing vetted developers and project managers. For the referenced engagement they provided a dedicated team including a project manager and three Ruby developers to work on a Zend/PHP project and larger Ruby on Rails work, contributing to e-commerce sites and web apps while integrating into the client's tools and processes (JIRA, Slack).

Project Outcome

  • Seamless integration with the internal team; Polcode is treated like internal developers.
  • Consistent quality of work and repeat engagements over multiple projects.
