Project Summary

Moravio developed a live video streaming platform for a fitness-technology client, delivering the Dashboard, Class Builder, and Stream Manager using Node.js, Angular and AWS. They provided sprint-based development, in-house engineering, and integrations such as Stripe and a calendar function. Communication was regular (Google Meet) and project management used Confluence and Trello; the engagement is ongoing and will move to an SLA.

Key Challenges

  • The client's in-house Technical Lead was no longer available, requiring an external partner.
  • The platform was ambitious, integrating many different technologies with a high level of R&D involvement.
  • The client needed development of core components: the Dashboard, the Class Builder and the Stream Manager for the MVP.

Project Deliverables

  • Dashboard
  • Class Builder
  • Stream Manager
  • Live video streaming platform (MVP)
  • Infrastructure as code and deployment (Terraform, AWS)
  • Serverless backend and GraphQL API

Project Solution

Moravio took over development of the client's core platform, implementing the Dashboard, Class Builder and Stream Manager as the MVP. They worked from provided documentation and demos, planned prioritized 2-week sprint objectives, provided estimates, and developed the application in-house. The technical stack included Node.js, Angular (service-model architecture), AWS Amplify, Node.js Lambdas, AppSync GraphQL API, Terraform for infrastructure as code, LiveKit for video streaming, Docker, and AWS services. The vendor provided product management and engineering resources (product manager, tech lead, developers, QA) and collaborated closely with the client through sprint planning and regular meetings.

Project Outcome

  • Video streaming functions work as requested and perform well.
  • Calendar functionality is implemented and working.
  • Stripe API integration completed successfully.
  • Strong organizational and project-management practices with detailed sprint hour breakdowns for investors.
  • Ongoing engagement with plans to move to an SLA as the business model is validated.
