Project Summary

A nonprofit partnered with Miquido to build a geolocation-based logistic web platform to coordinate volunteers and transfer donated PPE to hospitals during the COVID-19 pandemic. Miquido developed the site (Masks4heroes.pl), implemented filters and volunteer coordination features, and delivered a React frontend with a Firebase backend. The platform helped automate volunteer workflows and supported significant PPE deliveries during the outbreak.

Key Challenges

  • Create a Google-Maps–style website to pinpoint packages and pickup locations
  • Enable volunteers to plan daily work and improve coordination effectiveness
  • Implement filters to indicate package size, required vehicle, and delivery urgency
  • Automate communication and task assignment between coordinators, volunteers, and drivers

Project Deliverables

  • Logistic web platform
  • Geolocation-based web application
  • Domain registration (Masks4heroes.pl)
  • Frontend built with React
  • Backend using Firebase
  • Filters and volunteer coordination features
  • Platform statute / documentation

Project Solution

Miquido designed and built a geolocation-based logistics web application and registered the Masks4heroes.pl domain. They developed a React frontend and used Firebase for the backend, created user flows for donors and verified drivers, implemented filters to prioritize and categorize packages, and supplied platform statutes/documentation to support operations.

Project Outcome

  • 1200 unique visits during the peak pandemic period
  • More than 80 deliveries/carriers of donated PPE
  • Immediate early adoption with first 20 users and five equipment transports at launch
