Project Summary

LITSLINK built a data broker application and data pipeline for an IoT wearables company, handling incoming device data and setting up AWS infrastructure. They implemented CI/CD and deployed services to a Kubernetes cluster while configuring Kinesis streams, S3 storage, and Elasticsearch clusters. Stakeholders were able to test end-to-end architecture, present demos to investors, and gain new customers; the vendor was noted for AWS expertise and strong communication.

Key Challenges

  • Build a scalable and reliable data broker application to handle incoming data from wearable devices
  • Persist and store large volumes of device data on AWS
  • Implement a robust data pipeline and infrastructure to support device communication at scale

Project Deliverables

  • Ruby application to control Bluetooth devices and routers at scale
  • CI/CD pipelines for Ruby and Python applications
  • Amazon Kinesis streams
  • Amazon S3 buckets
  • Elasticsearch clusters
  • Kubernetes cluster setup and deployment
  • Deployment of a third-party application

Project Solution

LITSLINK designed and developed a Ruby application to control Bluetooth devices and routers at scale and to receive incoming device data. They implemented CI/CD pipelines and deployed multiple applications (Ruby and Python) to the client's Kubernetes cluster. On AWS they set up Kinesis streams, S3 buckets, and Elasticsearch clusters, and assisted with further Kubernetes configuration and deployment of a third-party application.

Project Outcome

  • Fully tested end-to-end software architecture enabling investor demos
  • Presented demos that supported raising venture capital and helped sign new customers
  • Effective ongoing collaboration with biweekly update calls and responsive communication
