Project Summary

itSilesia developed a quiz application and a quiz-generator tool for an academic medical project and executed a medical-data migration for the client. The team built frontend architecture (Vue.js) and backend services (Java/Kotlin with Spring Boot), used Agile two-week sprints and Jira for project management, and delivered reusable components and a migration pipeline that included anonymization and mapping to the FHIR standard. All requested features were completed correctly and on time.

Key Challenges

  • Prepare a system for the academic community to create tests and exams for students
  • Enable quiz content based on anonymous hospital data to create realistic medical-case questions
  • Support lecturers and professors with tools for exam and quiz creation while ensuring data anonymization and standardized storage

Project Deliverables

  • A mobile application with quizzes and tests for medical university students
  • A teacher tool/quiz generator for creating tests and quizzes
  • Reusable quiz and educational-game components that can be embedded in new applications
  • A medical data migration process including anonymization, mapping to the global FHIR standard, and centralized standardized storage

Project Solution

itSilesia designed frontend architecture and selected frontend technologies (Vue.js) and implemented a quiz application for students and a quiz-generator for teachers. On the backend they supported data migration from hospitals to a central storage, including anonymization, mapping data to the global FHIR standard, and providing support to the client's programmers. The backend used Java and Kotlin with Spring Boot. The engagement was run using Agile two-week sprints and Jira for task tracking; the vendor contributed architecture, implementation, and reusable components.

Project Outcome

  • Delivered a mobile application with quizzes and a teacher tool for medical students
  • Delivered reusable components for quizzes and educational games that can be embedded in other applications
  • Implemented a medical data migration process including anonymization, mapping to the global FHIR standard, and centralized standardized storage
  • Completed features on time using Agile two-week sprints and Jira-driven project management
