Project Summary

itSilesia developed the GYOLA ear surgery simulation application to enable the academic community to practise ear prosthesis surgery. The team used Unity 3D and 3D tools to faithfully reproduce surgical procedures and delivered the cross-platform application for desktop and mobile platforms. The vendor worked in an Agile process with weekly sprints and frequent communication, delivering results quickly and pleasing the client.

Project Solution

The vendor was selected after portfolio review and conversations with managers. Project steps included data collection (films, photos, interviews), analysis, development with ongoing consultation, testing, corrections, and deployment. Key deliverables included an application to demonstrate the operation, present scenarios where mistakes occur and their consequences, and teach decision-making for specific cases. The application was developed for popular platforms at the time (Windows, macOS, iOS, Windows Mobile, Android). Technologies used included Unity 3D and 3ds Max for graphics and animations. Two Unity3D developers and one 3D graphic artist worked on the project.
