Project Summary

Forte Group provided staff augmentation to NexLP, an AI/ML company, supplying developers and product resources to build integrations and data import/export features in .NET. The vendor conducted discovery, story mapping, and created a one-year release roadmap, then implemented enhancements to eDiscovery integrations and high-performance data export/import capabilities. The engagement helped NexLP deliver planned features to major customers, with reliable developers and strong customer service.

Key Challenges

  • The internal development team was at full capacity, causing gaps in the release plan
  • Several customer-requested features (third-party integrations, data exports, and data imports) were deprioritized without outside help
  • The client needed to accelerate development without disrupting the existing release plan
  • Achieving high performance for big-data features was crucial

Project Deliverables

  • Enhanced third-party integrations (Relativity, Reveal)
  • Data export functionality
  • Data import functionality
  • Discovery, story mapping, and a one-year release roadmap

Project Solution

Forte Group supplied a small managed team and conducted discovery and story-mapping to break features into user stories, estimate and prioritize work, and produce a one-year release roadmap. The team enhanced third-party eDiscovery integrations (Relativity and Reveal), improved data export capabilities, and implemented data import functionality with attention to high performance in a big-data environment. Delivery used an agile Scrum approach with two-week iterations and a part-time product owner to coordinate work.

Project Outcome

  • Forte’s team successfully released each planned feature across a series of releases
  • The team onboarded quickly to a complex codebase and delivered high-quality, high-performance capabilities
  • Customers were impressed and the client met delivery commitments to key customers
